About me
Dr. Johnothon Sauer is a member of the mathematics faculty at William Mason High School. The 2025–2026 academic year marks his 25th year at Mason and his 36th year in the classroom. A Columbus native, Johnothon earned his B.S.Ed. from The Ohio State University with certifications in mathematics and music, subsequently earning his M.A.T. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati.
A specialist in the Harkness Method, Johnothon is a staunch advocate for student-centered, discussion-based learning and the implementation of evidence-based assessment. Beyond his academic work, he serves as a deacon in the Orthodox Church. He and his wife have been married for 35 years and have four adult children.
